How to

replace wax filter in an ITE

About wax protection

Your ear canal produces ear wax which may clog up the earpiece. Ear wax is one of the main causes of problems in hearing aids. Most hearing aids come with a filter to avoid that earwax clog sound. For ITE hearing aids the filter is placed in the hearing aid, for RITE and BTE hearing aids the filter is placed either in the speaker and/or in the mould.

Use the wax filter and tools to clean away any accumulated wax each day. Consult your hearing care professional about the specific wax filter in your hearing aids and how it can be replaced or look in the Instructions for use which you have received together with your hearing aid from your hearing aid professional.

Important notice!

Always use the same type of wax filter as that originally supplied with the hearing aid. If you are in any doubt about the use or replacement of wax filters, contact your hearing care professional.
